The solubility of a compound will have a direct impact on the Absorption, Distribution, Metabolism, Excretion (ADME) and Pharmacokinetics (PK) properties of a drug. False results are often a consequence of insoluble compounds, or compounds with low solubility, because they usually have lower bioavailability, are highly bound to plasma proteins and tend to precipitate out of solution when conducting in vitro assays. To complement our solubility assays, we provide clients with a wide range of services to determine compound bioavailability, including drug absorption by measuring intestinal (or MDCK) permeability rates, compound interactions with transporters (e.g., P-glycoprotein) that may limit exposure and protein binding assays.
