Reports and Results

Question Answer
Where can I view my study’s status? Study related information can be viewed by selecting Studies & Reports from the User Menu. Here you can find basic information regarding your study, including important status updates.

  • Status – Shows the current status of your project.
  • Start Date, Results Due Date and Report Due Date – Dates for when a study will start and when its results and report file are due. Please note, if the study has not yet started, no dates will be shown in these fields and they will be updated when the study is activated. For studies in which assays are being performed at multiple testing locations, the due dates reflect when the entire study is expected to be completed. Dates are shown in day-month-year format.
  • Progress – Indicates whether results are available for the study. Depending on the type of study, partial or full data results may be available online (see “How do I view a study’s results online?” section below for more information).

How do I view a study’s results online? For many standard studies, results will be posted for viewing directly online. There are two different methods to access your online results.

Method 1 – from Studies & Reports page

  1. Log in and select Studies & Reports from the User Menu.
  2. If your study has online data available, it will show in one of two ways.
    1. If the study has online data posted but ALSO has report files posted, then click on the additional actions ellipsis (i.e., three vertical dots) next to the “Report” text and select “Online Data” on the menu.
    2. If the study has online data posted but does NOT yet have report files posted, then Click on “Online Data” directly on the line for the study.

Note, if “Online Data” is not found in either case, no online results are currently available. There are two possible reasons for this: A) your project is a standard study that is currently in progress, so no results are currently available or B) your project is considered a custom study. In the case of custom studies, online results are not usually provided. When your custom study is completed a report and/or other related study files will be made available to download (see “How do I view reports and other study related files?” section above for more information).

  3. Once the “Online Date” option is clicked then the “Online Date” page will open with results table displayed.

Note, you may only see partial results if your study is still in progress. The remaining results should be available once the project is complete.

Method 2 – from Online Data page
The steps outlined here are specifically for viewing online results for a single study. However, you can make different selections for the various dropdowns to view combinations of studies, compounds and/or assays as desired.

  1. Log in and select Online Data from the User Menu.
  2. In the “Select Parameters” section, select “Studies” for the “Starts With” dropdown list

  3. In the “Studies” dropdown list, select the desired study (Note: more than one study can be selected)

  4. (Optional) In the “Compounds” and “Assays” fields, deselect items. (Note: By default all Compounds and Assays from the study are selected. If you deselect items, then they will NOT be displayed).

  5. Click “Generate Results” button
  6. All available results will be displayed. To view a different set of results, click “Reset” and repeat the process.
Can I change the display of results on the online data table? There are several options available to customize the online results table to make it easier to view the data that you are most interested in.

Sorting Online Data
Once data results are generated, they are displayed with a default sorting applied. The sorting of the table can be changed by either clicking on individual column headers or by using the “Custom Sort” feature.

The “Custom Sort” option allows for hierarchical sorting of different fields in the data table. Click on “Custom Sort” icon to access this feature and change the sorting options as desired and save. To return to the default view, open the “Custom Sort” dialog box and select “Reset” and save.

Showing Reference Compound Data
If reference compounds/samples data were posted online, then the reference data will be shown by default in dark gray. If you only want to display your own compounds/samples, then simply uncheck the “Show Reference Compound Data if Available” option. Reference compounds/samples can be redisplayed at any time by reselecting the “Show Reference Compound Data if Available” option.

Setting Display Threshold
If you are looking for a subset of data that meets certain criteria (e.g., results >50% inhibition), you can use the “Set Display Threshold” to quickly display matching results. Choose the “Measurement Type” (e.g., % inhibition, % activation, IC50, etc.), “Criterion” (e.g., >, <, etc.) and "Value", then apply the changes to show only the results line that match your criteria. Removing the threshold restrictions can be done by clicking on the "Reset" button within the “Results” table section.

How do I export results displayed on the online table? Online results can be downloaded from Online Data page for either a single, multiple or all result lines. Please note, sorting of the exported data table will match that as displayed online. If you wish to alter display parameters for the online table, see “Can I change the display of results on the online data table?” above section.

  1. Select two or more result lines (Note: to select all, check the checkbox in the table header. To ensure that every line for the study is selected, it is suggested to first click “View” on table header and choose “View All” and then check the checkbox in the table header. )
  2. On the bulk actions toolbar at the bottom of your display, click on the additional actions ellipsis (i.e., three vertical dots) and select “Export Results” on the menu.

Note: If you only want to export a single line, then you can click on the additional actions ellipsis (i.e., three vertical dots) for that individual line and select “Export Results” on the menu.

Can I create a quote for an online result matching my follow-up criteria? You can quickly added combinations of compounds and assays that meet your follow-up criteria to the cart to quickly generate a new quote by following these steps. (Note: only standard assays, which have the “Add to Cart” option can be added using this feature).

  1. (Optional) Use the “Set Display Threshold” feature to quickly find data that matches your follow-up criteria.
  2. For a single line, click on the additional actions ellipsis (i.e., three vertical dots) for that line and select “Add to Cart” on the menu. For multiple lines, check all desired lines and on the bulk actions toolbar at the bottom of your display, click on the additional actions ellipsis (i.e., three vertical dots) and select “Add to Cart” on the menu.
  3. On the “Re-use Compound?” popup, select whether you want to send new compounds or reuse compounds from the previous study. (Note: if you choose to reuse compounds, then the “Study Number” from the result line will be automatically added in the “Use Compound from Previous Study?” section Compound Info page.)
  4. In the cart, configure “Mode”, “Conc” and “Rep” as applicable before proceeding to the next step. (Note: “Comp” field will be pre-populated based on the results lines that were chosen on the Online Data page. See Create a Quote for more details about creating a quote online.)
  5. Complete the remaining steps to create a quote (Note: if you have selected the reuse compound option, the quote will be pending until we investigate whether enough compound is on hand to run your follow-up project.)
