Background Information:
Lability to hydrolytic enzymes found in plasma and blood can be a limitation for the in vivo efficacy of a therapeutic compound. Eurofins has a high-throughput assay to determine metabolic stability in plasma and blood from various species using LCMS analysis to quantify the percent compound remaining after incubation. Subsequently, the half-life (T1/2) is estimated from the slope of the initial linear range of the logarithmic curve of compound remaining (%) versus time, assuming first order kinetics.
