Biological Information
Background Information:
Eg5, a member of the kinesin superfamily, plays a key role in mitosis, orchestrates chromosome segregation in dividing cells. It has been shown Eg5 is overexpressed in many proliferative tissues, targeting Eg5 may lead to mitotic arrest and Eg5 inhibitors displayed potent anticancer activity against some of the mutant tumors. Identification of Eg5 inhibitor may be an important for a novel anticancer therapeutic.
